Since the start of the day, 82 combat encounters occurred between Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops, with the fiercest fighting continuing in the Pokrovsk direction.
This information was shared by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, providing updates as of 16:00 on September 21.
It is reported that defenders are holding their lines and wearing down Russian forces along the entire front.
Throughout the day, enemy artillery targeted areas in Boyaro-Lezhachiv, Novovasylivka, Bobylivka, Bachevsk, Kozache and Bilya Berizka in Sumy region, as well as Mykhalchyna Sloboda, Bleshnya, Krasny Khutor, and Yasna Polyana in Chernihiv region.
In the North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled three Russian attacks. Another battle is ongoing. The Russian army launched seven airstrikes, dropping 17 guided bombs, and carried out 102 artillery strikes, including ten from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the South Slobozhansky direction, since the start of the day, defenders repelled two attacks from Russian forces, with five more clashes ongoing. The invaders are attacking near Vovchansk and towards Otradne.
In the Kup'yansk direction, defense forces successfully halted six enemy offensive actions in the areas of Stepova Novoselivka, Nova Kruglyakivka, and Kup'yansk.
In the Lyman direction, 12 clashes occurred near Hrekivka, Novomykhailivka, Shandryholove, Kolodiaziv, Torske, and Novoselivka. Seven battles are still ongoing.
No clashes have started yet in the Siversky and Kramatorsk directions.
In the Toretsk direction, Russians attacked eight times in the areas of Pleshchiyivka, Rusynyi Yar, Poltavka, and Toretsk. Fighting continues in two locations.
The Russian army struck Kostiantynivka with guided bombs.
In the Pokrovsk direction, 28 clashes of varying intensity occurred near Pankivka, Nikanorivka, Novoekonomichne, Chervonyi Lyman, Promin, Chunyshyne, Zviriv, Udaichne, Kotlyne, and Dachne. One clash is ongoing.
In the Novopavlivsky direction, invaders attempted to advance 12 times in the areas of Filiya, Zelenyi Hai, Piddubne, Maliivka, Sychneve, Komyshuvakha, Voronoi, Novomykolaivka, and Zaporizhzhia. Three clashes are still ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled an enemy attack near Olhivske.
In the Orikhiv direction, Russian troops attempted to advance four times on the positions of the Defense Forces in the Kam’yanske area and towards Novodanylivka.
In the Dniprovsky direction, Russian aviation struck Inhul and Otradokamianka.
