Ukraine has successfully repatriated 1000 bodies that, according to Russian sources, belong to Ukrainian military personnel.

This information was shared by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War via Telegram.

In the coming days, law enforcement agencies together with MIA experts will carry out the necessary examinations and identify the repatriated bodies.

The repatriation efforts were made possible through the joint work of the Coordination Headquarters, the Combined Center under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Human Rights Commissioner, the Secretariat on Missing Persons in Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service, and other security sector entities.

The Coordination Headquarters expressed gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for their assistance.

Special thanks were given to the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who are responsible for transporting the fallen soldiers to designated state facilities and organizing the handover of the deceased to law enforcement and forensic experts.

Investigators, along with MIA experts, will promptly identify the deceased.
