The Ukrainian air defense forces successfully neutralized 136 out of 172 enemy drones that attacked the country on the evening of September 16.

This information was released by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Telegram.

Starting from 6 PM on September 16, the aggressors launched a ballistic missile "Iskander-M/KN-23" and S-300 guided missiles from the Rostov and Kursk regions, deploying 172 striking UAVs of the types Shahed, "Gerbera", and other models from directions including Kursk, Bryansk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), and Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea). More than 100 of these were Shahed drones.

The response to the aerial attack was provided by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, as of 9:30 AM on Wednesday, September 17, the air defense forces shot down/neutralized 136 UAVs of the Shahed type, "Gerbera", and other types in the north, south, and east of the country.
