On September 12, the Sumy community declared a Day of Mourning for the victims of attacks by the Russian Federation on the city of Sumy and Bitytsky Starostate.

This announcement was made by the Sumy City Council via Telegram.

"Today, September 12, a Day of Mourning has been declared in the Sumy MTG due to enemy attacks on Sumy and Bitytsky Starostate," the statement reads.

The city council noted that, as a sign of mourning, the State Flags have been lowered at all administrative buildings, enterprises, and organizations.

All entertainment events have been canceled in the community, and the playing of entertainment music has been prohibited in commercial establishments, dining venues, and public transport.

In the morning of September 12, Russian drones attacked the industrial zone on the outskirts of Sumy. Additionally, a missile strike was carried out on the Bitytsky Starostate. Currently, the deaths of three community residents have been confirmed.
