Russian forces launched an assault on a thermal power plant in the Kyiv region.

This information has been confirmed by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

The strike targeted the Ukrainian energy infrastructure, particularly a thermal generation facility.

"The main goal is to create additional hardships for the civilian population, depriving Ukrainians of light and heat, affecting hospitals, kindergartens, and schools. Energy facilities, power distribution systems, and gas infrastructure are not military targets. The enemy clearly understands that they are striking critical civilian infrastructure," emphasized the Ministry of Energy.

Rescue services and energy workers are working to mitigate the aftermath of the attack.

"We are doing everything possible to stabilize the situation as quickly as possible," the ministry assured and promised to provide updates on any changes in energy supply.
