On the night of August 28, Kyiv faced a brutal assault, leading to the deaths of 16 individuals, among them 4 children.

This information was confirmed by President Volodymyr Zelensky, Head of the Kyiv Military Administration Timur Tkachенко, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, and Interior Minister Igor Klymenko in their Telegram messages.

According to Tkachенко, "the death toll has risen to 12, including three children aged 2, 17, and 14 years old."

At 11:00 AM, Minister Klymenko announced that the number of victims in the capital had reached 13.

By 12:19 PM, Tkachенко reported 15 fatalities, including 4 children. At 14:05, it was confirmed that 16 had died.

Among the deceased were children aged 2, 14, and 17. Klymenko noted that one child was recovered at the attack site, while two died in the hospital from severe injuries.

A total of 38 people were injured as a result of the attack.

"Ten individuals are currently considered missing. Rescue operations are ongoing at the affected sites," the Minister added.

The Mayor stated that among the injured were children aged 7, 10, and 11.

"Today's Russian missiles and drones are a clear message to the world about the futility of calls for ceasefire. Russia chooses violence over negotiation and continues its killings," emphasized Zelensky.

The President also expressed hope for China's reaction to the situation, as the country has repeatedly called for peace.

"The silence from the international community is unacceptable. The deaths of children should provoke stronger emotions than anything else. We expect responses from all who have called for peace but remain silent now," the President stated.

He called for the imposition of new stringent sanctions against Russia.

"All deadlines have been missed, and diplomatic opportunities wasted. Russia must bear responsibility for every strike, for every day of this war," Zelensky concluded.
