In the night of August 28, Russian forces launched an attack on the Ukrainian Railways train park, leading to a fire and damage to the rolling stock.

This was reported by UZ on Telegram.

According to Ukrainian Railways: "Last night, our forces carried out a targeted strike on civilian passenger rolling stock. The Intercity+ high-speed train park was specifically hit. Thanks to the coordinated actions of railway workers, the fire was extinguished. One train suffered significant damage".

Details: UZ noted that workers were in shelters, so there were no casualties.

"We are doing everything possible to ensure that the maximum number of trains are in service. No train will be canceled: we are deploying replacement rolling stock. We will inform about delays, as the restoration of the damaged infrastructure is ongoing", – said the railway.

They also reminded that due to damage to the infrastructure at the railway junction in Kozyatyn, several trains are still following altered routes.
