Rescue teams in Transcarpathia managed to contain a significant fire that broke out as a result of a missile attack by Russia on an enterprise in Mukachevo.

This was reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in the Transcarpathian region on Facebook, as stated by Ukrinform.

“The fire covering an area of 7,000 square meters has been localized,” the report states.

In dealing with the aftermath of the enemy attack, 96 rescuers and 20 units of equipment are involved, along with a firefighting train from Ukrzaliznytsia.

It was noted that on August 21, around 4:40 AM, Russian forces launched a missile strike on an enterprise in Mukachevo, causing a fire. According to the prosecutor's office, two Kalibr-type missiles were used. The elimination of the consequences is ongoing.

The regional military administration urged residents of the Mukachevo and Uzhhorod districts to close windows and avoid going outside unnecessarily due to harmful combustion products in the air.

Currently, 19 individuals are reported to have been injured as a result of the missile strike.
