The Ukrainian Armed Forces, in collaboration with intelligence units, conducted a strike on the Volgograd oil refinery (LLC Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka) during the night of August 14, which supplies fuel to the Russian military.

This information was confirmed by the General Staff of the UAF on their Facebook page.

The drone strikes resulted in significant fires at the refinery.

Further details regarding the impact of the attack are currently being clarified.

The General Staff noted that the Volgograd oil refinery is the largest producer of fuel and lubricants in the Southern Federal District of Russia. Annually, it processes over 15 million tons of oil, accounting for 5.6% of the total Russian processing. The refinery produces diesel, gasoline, and aviation fuel, which are critical for the logistics of the Russian Armed Forces.

“We are consistently working to reduce the production capacities of oil products in the aggressor country to weaken its military. Russia must fully feel the consequences of its aggressive policies and cease its war against Ukraine,” emphasized the General Staff.
