In the night leading to July 22, Russian forces launched a drone strike on the gas extraction facilities of Naftogaz of Ukraine. Efforts to mitigate the damage are currently underway.
This was reported by the Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz, Serhiy Koretsky, on his Facebook page.
«Last night, there was a massive assault on the gas infrastructure. Dozens of drones targeted the Naftogaz Group facilities. There are significant damages», - he stated in his message.
Specialist teams are currently working on-site to address the aftermath of the attack.
Koretsky mentioned that this is yet another large-scale assault on the gas extraction infrastructure. Such attacks occur regularly and aim to disrupt preparations for winter and create gas supply issues for Ukrainians during the cold months.
