A tragic event unfolded in the capital of Ukraine, where one person lost their life, and six others were injured, including a 15-year-old girl. This incident was caused by a combined assault with missiles and drones that occurred on the night of July 21, 2025.

According to the prosecutor's office, a preliminary investigation has been initiated regarding the war crime under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. As of this morning, one man is confirmed dead, and six individuals sustained injuries from shrapnel and cuts. One victim received on-site assistance due to a hypertensive crisis.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, residential buildings sustained damage, leading to a fire on three floors. The metro station and nearby restaurants were also affected.

In the Solomianskyi district, windows and doors were shattered in high-rise buildings due to the blast wave, while in the Darnytskyi district, a kindergarten and supermarkets were damaged, with windows blown out.

In the Dniprovskyi district, commercial pavilions and warehouses caught fire, and in the Obolonskyi district, two buildings, including an unfinished one, suffered significant damage.

The exact number of casualties is still being determined, and rescuers and law enforcement are working at the disaster sites to document the consequences of this war crime.

The investigation is being conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
