The Ukrainian air defense forces have shot down 198 out of 400 attacking drones.
According to Ukrinform, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shared this information on their Telegram channel.
On the evening of July 15, Russian forces launched a strike on Ukraine with an "Iskander-M" ballistic missile from Crimea and deployed 400 Shahed-type drones and other models from various directions: Shatalovo, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Chayuda (Crimea), with around 255 of them being Shahed drones.
The primary targets of the attacks were Kryvyi Rih, Kharkiv, and Vinnytsia.
The defense was mounted by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, EW units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 08:30 on July 16, air defense managed to down 198 drones across the north, south, east, and center of the country.
Additionally, 145 decoy drones were reported lost or suppressed by EW.
Impacts from missiles and 57 drones were recorded at 12 locations, with debris from downed targets landing in two areas.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Russians struck Kryvyi Rih with a ballistic missile and 28 drones, injuring a 17-year-old boy, destroying an industrial facility, and leaving part of the city without electricity.
In Vinnytsia, eight people were hospitalized following a nighttime drone attack.
