Late at night, debris from a downed Russian drone fell on the Polish consulate in Kyiv, but no diplomatic staff were harmed.
According to the spokesperson of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the situation remains under control, and the consulate will continue its operations as usual. Pavel Wroński confirmed that fragments of the drone fell on the building.
“At 12:30 AM, staff members who were in the shelter heard a loud bang and later discovered minor damage to the roof,” he noted.
The spokesperson emphasized that no one was injured and Polish diplomats are continuing their work despite the challenges posed by ongoing air raid alerts in Kyiv.
Wroński also stated that the consulate will carry on with its operations while staff assess the situation on the ground. “From a preliminary inspection, the damage appears to be minor,” he added.
When asked about potential actions against Russia, the spokesperson mentioned that there is currently no information available regarding that matter.
As a result of the nighttime attack, the Polish consulate suffered damage but no casualties were reported. The Polish Foreign Minister emphasized the urgent need for Ukraine to strengthen its air defense capabilities.
