An attack on the Odesa port has resulted in civilian casualties and injuries.

This was confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, Oleksii Kuleba, via Telegram.

Earlier today, an Iskander missile struck one of the docks at the Odesa seaport, where unloading of cargo from a foreign ship was taking place.

Two people lost their lives: a docker-mechanic and a truck driver. Our heartfelt condolences go out to their families.

Six individuals sustained injuries, including port workers and two members of a Syrian crew. All affected individuals are receiving necessary medical assistance.

Infrastructure was also damaged, including portal cranes and warehouses.

Russia has been targeting our ports for the past four years, attacking the infrastructure that connects Ukraine to the world. These assaults on civilians highlight Russia's intent to destroy our transport networks and economic potential.

The international community must respond to such aggressions to ensure safe navigation and protect civilian lives.
