During the exchange of fallen soldiers' bodies, Russia handed over the bodies of its soldiers to Ukraine, some of whom had Russian passports, along with citizens from other countries. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky during a press conference with journalists.

«It has been documented that among the 20 bodies handed over to us as our fallen soldiers, there were “Russians”. For example, there is an Israeli mercenary who fought on their side. He holds Israeli documents. Although they claimed that these were only Ukrainians, this is a lie that has been recorded», – the President explained.

Zelensky emphasized that such instances are not isolated, indicating deliberate actions by the Russian side aimed at showcasing the number of supposed Ukrainian casualties.

«We certainly want to bring back all our soldiers and the bodies of our heroes, but we do not wish to return “Russians” just for the sake of numbers», – he stated.

The President added that Ukraine has provided this information to the Russian side and is ready to return the bodies of Russian soldiers, but has received no constructive response from them.
