Rescue teams have retrieved 8 more bodies from the ruins of a nine-story residential building in Kyiv, destroyed by a Russian missile, raising the total death toll to 24.

According to the service: "In the Solomyansky district, search operations continued throughout the night. As of 07:00, bodies of 5 additional victims have been recovered from the partially destroyed nine-story building".

Updated: Less than an hour after this, SES reported that another body (male) had been retrieved from the rubble.

Direct quote from SES spokesperson Svitlana Vodolaga in a comment to UP: "Currently, we have recorded 22 dead. Of these, 17 are from the Solomyansky district, 3 from the site in the Darnytsky district, 1 deceased in an apartment in the Darnytsky district, and 1 person who died in the hospital".

When asked how many more people might still be trapped under the rubble, Vodolaga said: "We do not have such data. The city authorities indicated that there are a certain number of individuals who have not been in contact. We know that 35 apartments have been destroyed. The efforts are ongoing".

At 9:05 AM, KMVA head Timur Tkachенко announced that rescuers had retrieved the body of a woman, increasing the number of victims from the strike on the building in the Solomyansky district to 18. Overall, the capital has now recorded 23 fatalities due to the Russian attack on the night of June 17.

At 10:30 AM, SES reported that another body had been recovered from the rubble. The total number of victims from the Russian strike on Kyiv has now reached 24.
