"Since early June, almost 900 people have been evacuated, including 137 children. In the last day, 21 individuals were moved to safer areas," said the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleg Grygorov.

According to Grygorov, the planned evacuation involves 213 settlements across 18 border communities.

"The evacuation is being carried out in close coordination with the communities, the State Emergency Service, the police, volunteers, and international partners. Humanitarian hubs and transit centers are operational to provide immediate assistance to those fleeing dangerous areas," he explained.

The head of the regional administration also noted that defense capabilities are being strengthened in the region: anti-drone systems are being deployed, mobile fire groups are formed, and the business and public sectors are joining efforts to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
