In Bilozerke, Donetsk region, rescuers discovered a cat that had been trapped under rubble for two days without food or water.
The animal was so frightened that it managed to scratch one of the firefighters, according to the State Emergency Service representatives.
The rescue operations lasted over two days at the site of the collapsed five-story building when the rescuers encountered the terrified cat.
“When it was finally pulled from the debris, the scared animal scratched the face of one of the rescuers in panic,” the State Emergency Service reported.
Despite the injury, the rescuers successfully saved the resilient animal that had been waiting for help. The cat is now safe and receiving the necessary care.
As a reminder, at the end of May in Kyiv region, law enforcement saved an injured roe deer that had run into a local yard but could not find its way out.
