Due to the military aggression of Russia against Ukraine, thousands of children have been affected. 630 have died and over 1960 have sustained injuries of varying severity.
This information was released by the Prosecutor General's Office.
Nearly 2600 children have been affected in Ukraine
“According to official data, more than 2590 children have been harmed by the war in Ukraine. As of the morning of May 26, 2025, 630 children have died, and over 1960 have been injured to varying degrees,” − the statement reads.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the most affected children are in the following regions:
- Donetsk region – 645
- Kharkiv region – 492
- Kherson region – 208
- Dnipropetrovsk region – 242
- Kyiv region – 146
- Zaporizhzhia region – 181
- Sumy region – 139
Tragic events reported that occurred on May 25:
- As a result of a strike on the city of Korostyshiv, a 12-year-old girl and boys aged 8 and 17 were killed. A 14-year-old boy was injured.
- In Kharkiv, a 14-year-old boy was injured from the strike.
- In Kyiv region, eight children were injured due to Russian strikes: girls aged 10, 13, and 17, and boys aged 8, 10, 11, and 13.
- On the same day, May 25, a 17-year-old boy was injured from a strike on Mykolaiv.
