According to a Google study conducted in February 2025, Ukrainian children begin using the internet at the age of five, spending at least an hour online each day. Among teenagers, this figure rises significantly, with 79% spending more than three hours online daily. This widespread presence of children in the digital environment calls for heightened attention to their safety.

To combat cyberbullying, fraud, and harmful content, Ukraine has launched the 'Safe Internet Center.' This initiative is implemented by organizations such as 'Magnolia,' 'La Strada-Ukraine,' and 'Docudays.'

The Center operates in three main areas:

Hotline StopCrime

This service receives reports regarding online sexual violence against children, assists in blocking such materials, and collaborates with the international network INHOPE. The StopCrime project was created with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Diya.Education, and the Cyber Police Department to combat violence against children online.

Support Line for Children and Youth 116111

This national hotline provides psychological and legal support to children who have fallen victim to online violence or faced other internet threats.

Awareness Campaigns

The Center conducts information campaigns for children, parents, educators, law enforcement, and anyone interested in learning more about digital hygiene.

Safe Internet Centers are a common practice in EU countries and are supported within the framework of the Insafe network. The Ministry of Digital Transformation collaborates with European partners to create a safe space for children in the digital environment.
