Google has launched a new feature in Gemini that integrates Workspace services to create comprehensive analytical reports based on user data. Now, Gemini can analyze emails, documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and chats.
Deep Research first develops a query plan, then executes a series of searches, merging the results into a structured report. Users can add refinements or export the results to Google Docs, and even create a podcast based on it.
According to Google, Deep Research can conduct market analysis using internal team correspondence, Drive documents, and project plans. For example, the AI can generate a competitor report by combining public data with corporate files or communications in Google Chat.
The Gemini interface now features a source selection: users can grant access to Google Search, Gmail, Drive, or Chat separately. All connections occur only with the user's consent, and Google assures that the data is not used to train models.
Currently, Deep Research is available only in the desktop version of Gemini, but the company plans to roll out mobile support soon. Initially, the feature will be available to Workspace and Gemini Advanced users before being released more widely.
Additionally, Gemini recently introduced a feature for creating presentations based on user prompts.
