Amazon has launched its new smart glasses aimed at optimizing delivery processes and enhancing safety. This device, specifically designed for couriers, allows them to scan packages, follow routes, and confirm deliveries without taking their eyes off the road.
The new Amazon glasses integrate artificial intelligence and computer vision technologies with built-in cameras, creating a display that provides route information and alerts about potential hazards. When the driver parks, the glasses automatically activate, and essential data appears on the screen, from package locations in the vehicle to delivery addresses.
The display also offers step-by-step navigation to the recipient's address, utilizing Amazon's geospatial technologies, which helps drivers avoid frequent smartphone checks. In challenging situations, such as deliveries to apartment buildings, the glasses assist in reaching the destination safely.
The glasses come with a compact controller that can be attached to the courier's vest. The controller features controls, a replaceable battery for all-day use, and a dedicated emergency call button for quick communication with emergency services. The glasses are also compatible with prescription lenses and photochromic lenses that automatically adjust to lighting conditions.
