The government has revised its regulations regarding the testing of 5G in Ukraine, with the advanced communication format set to be trialed in Lviv, Kharkiv, and Borodyanka.

This announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister for Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

“Kharkiv and Borodyanka have suffered significant damage due to shelling. It is crucial to test the technology under the most challenging conditions. Ukraine is capable of implementing innovations even amidst potential supply disruptions and limited resources,” Fedorov stated.

One of the objectives of the testing is to assess the potential of 5G in rebuilding cities.

Testing is set to commence in the fall of 2025.
