Meta is embarking on the construction of several powerful computing clusters, with the first, Prometheus, scheduled to launch in 2026. Another cluster, Hyperion, will be scalable up to 5 GW in the coming years. According to Mark Zuckerberg, one of these clusters will occupy an area comparable to Manhattan.

Zuckerberg stated that Meta intends to invest hundreds of billions of dollars into computing power to create superintelligence. He emphasized that the company has sufficient capital to carry out these plans independently without external funding.

According to SemiAnalysis, Meta is outpacing its competitors and may become the first company to launch a cluster with a capacity of over 1 GW. The company is also building clusters in specialized tents to expedite the deployment of its computing infrastructure. This is part of the shift from "AI incrementalism" to a full-scale race for Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

Meta is also assembling the "most elite" team of developers, having poached top talent from OpenAI and Apple, and invested in Scale AI. CEO Alexander Wang leads this development team.
