Meta is currently working on a groundbreaking feature for the web version of WhatsApp that will enable users to easily locate and manage all media files sent in chats, as reported by WABetaInfo. The new media hub will serve as a centralized location to view images, videos, GIFs, documents, and links received or sent across all chats.
This feature, noted in the messenger's beta version, will include a search option with caption support, the ability to sort files by date and size, as well as contextual information about documents and links, including the contact's name who sent them and the date of sending. Additionally, users will have the capability to select multiple files at once for deletion, forwarding, or downloading.
Unlike the mobile version of WhatsApp, where media management can be cumbersome, the new web tool aims to simplify the process of searching for and organizing files significantly. This feature is expected to be available in future updates, although the exact launch date remains unknown. This innovation could greatly enhance user experience by allowing quick access to important files without the need to sift through each chat individually.
