The Ukrainian firm DeepStrikeTech has unveiled a new multi-role strike drone named «Batyar», capable of covering a distance of up to 800 km, as reported by Militer.
Initially designed as a kamikaze drone for deep strikes, its functionalities have since been expanded. It can now function as a decoy, bomber, or frontline strike drone.
«Batyar» is equipped with a gasoline engine and weighs 60 kg. In its long-range operational version, it carries a payload of 18 kg, while for frontline missions, it can carry 30 kg. One of its main advantages is the capability to launch from a catapult or vehicle, allowing for operation without specialized platforms. Even in a damaged state, the drone can maintain its intended course.
Visually, «Batyar» resembles the Russian-Iranian Shahed, but the similarity is only superficial. The aerodynamics of the device have been fully developed by Ukrainian engineers based on Western technical documentation. In the future, the manufacturer plans to develop a more powerful version of this UAV with an 80 kg payload.
Recently, another Ukrainian drone similar to the "shahed-like" design called "HUPALO-N" was codified, serving as an aerial target for training and various air defense system tests. Meanwhile, Russia has upgraded its Geran-2 (Shahed-136) strike drone, now equipping it with a combat load of 90 kg instead of 50.
