Google has introduced a new tool called Flow, which combines all of its generative models, such as Imagen for image creation, Veo for video generation, and the text-based Gemini for crafting cinematic clips and scenes.
Users will be able to conceptualize video ideas through Gemini, create necessary assets using Imagen, and then realize their concepts via the Veo generative model.
As reported by Engadget, Flow will also feature editing capabilities for video production. Users can select camera movements and angles as well as edit and add new clips and entire scenes. Additionally, Flow will include its own asset management system to organize resources and even user prompts.
This new Google tool will be available in the U.S. through a subscription to Google AI Pro or the newly introduced AI Ultra. With the AI Pro subscription, users will gain access to Veo 2, which includes enhancements such as the ability to control camera movements, a "Reframe" feature for switching from portrait to landscape format, and improved understanding of shadows, scale, and object interactions in videos.
Meanwhile, the Google AI Ultra subscription will feature the new Veo 3 model. This is Google's most advanced video generation model, which not only offers better quality compared to Veo 2 but also introduces the capability of generating videos with sound, such as traffic noise, birdsong, or even character dialogues.
It is worth noting that at Google I/O, a Gemini chatbot for Chrome was also introduced, along with the launch of the "AI Insights" extension in search for Ukraine and other regions, the Imagen 4 image generation model, and the Stitch tool for UI creation. Furthermore, Google announced its collaboration with Xreal on smart glasses Project Aura based on Android XR.
