BBC Studios has harnessed neural networks to recreate the voice and appearance of the famous detective novelist Agatha Christie for a new course. Actress Vivien Keen has been selected to portray Christie, with her image enhanced using AI technologies.

The course, titled Agatha Christie Writing, is now available on the BBC Maestro platform—an online service offering a $10 monthly subscription that provides educational materials from experts in various fields, including cooking, design, and personal effectiveness.

James Prichard, the author's great-grandson, emphasized that the lessons are crafted "in Agatha's own words," although the content has been developed by a team of specialists rather than being automatically generated by neural networks. The course materials are based on real quotes, interviews, audio recordings, photographs, and personal notes from Christie. BBC collaborated with the author's descendants to ensure the project’s authenticity.

The program includes 11 video lessons and 12 practical assignments designed to teach how to create compelling plots, develop intrigue, and build suspense. The course is aimed at aspiring writers who wish to learn from one of the most successful authors in the detective genre.
