The Ukrainian horting team has claimed first place in the overall standings, becoming the European champion.

This news was reported by the Ukrainian Horting Federation.

From April 25 to 28, the European Championship in horting took place in Milan, Italy, featuring 64 athletes from Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Rivne, Transcarpathia, and the capital.

The athletes competed for nearly 180 sets of awards in three categories: grappling, fighting, and police self-defense. Age categories started from 12 years old.

At the conclusion of Euro-2025, Ukrainian competitors secured 57 gold medals, making the Ukrainian team the champion of the event. Italy took second place, while France secured third.

Horting is a modern martial art that originated in Ukraine. Its founders explain that the term "horting" is derived from the name of the island Khortytsia, where the Zaporizhian Sich was located.
