The Ukrainian women's team faced setbacks at the ongoing World Chess Championship in Linares.
In their match against Georgia, the pivotal loss was that of Ushenina to Batsiashvili, while the other players managed to draw their games. Later, the "yellow-blues" suffered a crushing defeat to Uzbekistan, where Piddubna and Ushenina lost their matches, while Osymak and Buks played to a draw.
