177 athletes from Ukraine with hearing impairments will compete in the Deaflympics 2025, taking place in Tokyo from November 15 to 26.
Our Deaflympians will participate in 17 out of 21 sports featured in the Games (badminton, basketball (men/women), freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, bowling (men/women), volleyball (men/women), cycling (road/mountain), judo, karate, shooting, athletics, swimming, beach volleyball (men/women), orienteering, tennis, table tennis, football (men). Ukrainians will debut in tennis and mountain biking.
This will be the ninth Summer Deaflympics for the Ukrainian national Deaflympic team. Our team has topped the overall medal count at the Summer Deaflympics twice — in 2005 and 2021.
In total, Ukrainian athletes with hearing impairments have won 512 medals (165 gold, 176 silver, and 171 bronze) across eight Summer Deaflympics.
