The Ukrainian women's chess team has officially confirmed its participation in the World Team Championship, set to take place from November 18 to 23 in the Spanish city of Linares. The announcement was made on the official website of the Ukrainian Chess Federation.

The lineup for the team includes:

  • Yulia Osyak (Kyiv, 2464);
  • Anna Ushenina (Kharkiv, 2407);
  • Natalia Buks (Lviv, 2400);
  • Natalia Zhukova (Odesa, 2305);
  • Bozhena Piddubna (Kyiv, 2295);
  • Anastasia Hnatishin (Lviv, 2191).

The coaching staff will be led by grandmasters Mykhailo Brodskyi and Mykhailo Oleksienko. The delegation will be headed by Volodymyr Kovalchuk, the First Vice-President of the Ukrainian Chess Federation.
Notably, Inna Gaponenko will be absent from the tournament, having represented Ukraine for many years. She was part of the team that won gold at the 2006 Chess Olympiad.
Twelve teams will participate in the World Team Championship.
The known participants include: Georgia, France, Kazakhstan, USA, China, Ukraine, Peru, Egypt, India, Spain, and the FIDE team (Russian federation).
The first stage will feature a round-robin tournament with 6 teams, with the top 4 advancing to the playoffs, where the competition will continue in an Olympic format.
The final participant will be determined in a match between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, scheduled for October 31 and November 1.
