Renowned Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina has been awarded the 'Heart Award' for her representation of Ukraine in the final round of the Billie Jean King Cup. This was reported by the official tournament website.
The 'Heart Award' is given to female tennis players who have honorably represented their country, shown exceptional bravery on the court, and demonstrated outstanding commitment to their team during the Billie Jean King Cup.
In the September finals of the BJK Cup, Svitolina first defeated Paula Badosa in the quarter-finals, but unfortunately lost to Italian Jasmine Paolini in the semi-finals.
Based on fan voting, Elina outperformed Paolini, her compatriot Elisabetta Cocciaretto, and American Jessica Pegula.
Elina decided to donate the $10,000 prize to her Svitolina Foundation, which supports young tennis players in Ukraine.
