The ultramarathon held in Albi from October 18 to 19 proved to be a remarkable event for Ukrainian athlete Andrii Tkachuk, who secured first place. Over 200 competitors participated in the event, with women also competing fiercely. The women's title was claimed by Sarah Webster from the UK.
This achievement is particularly significant as Tkachuk is a participant in the ongoing war in Ukraine, serving in the "Sich" battalion, defending the eastern regions of the country.
Previously, Andrii took part in the Albi ultramarathon in 2019, finishing in 10th place with a distance of 262.788 km. Last year, he triumphed in the BukoTrail-2024, completing 78 km. He also holds the national record for Ukraine at the 48-hour running championship, where he covered 435.466 km.
