Two Ukrainian football clubs have begun their journey in the group stage of the Conference League – the third most prestigious European tournament.
Donetsk «Shakhtar» initially conceded a penalty goal to Scottish «Aberdeen» away, but managed to clinch a comeback victory with a score of 3:2. Players from Arda Turan's team, including Yegor Nazaryna, Lucas Pereira, and Pedrinho, were on the scoreboard.
Meanwhile, «Dynamo» faced an English side, «Crystal Palace», in a match held on neutral ground in Poland, losing 0:2. In the last 15 minutes, the Kyiv team played with a numerical advantage but failed to reduce the deficit.
The second round is set for October 23 – «Dynamo» will play away against Turkish «Samsunspor&, while «Shakhtar» will host Polish «Legia» from Warsaw.
