The Prince George Cougars from Canada have announced the signing of Ukrainian goaltender Alexander Levshin.
This was confirmed by the team's press service, which plays in the Western Hockey League.
Details of the contract with the 19-year-old Ukrainian national team goalie have not been disclosed yet.
"I am incredibly honored to be selected for the prestigious WHL league, and it is especially important for me to join a club with such a rich history and dedicated fans," commented Levshin.
Last season, the native of Kharkiv played for the Toronto Patriots in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL), where he averaged just 2.43 goals against per game and had a 93.5% save percentage.
Levshin was also recognized as the best goaltender in the U20 World Championship Division 1B, and in the spring of 2025, he made his debut for the national team of Ukraine.
In June, he received an invitation to the Vancouver development camp.
Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian junior national team defenseman Mykola Kosarev signed a contract with WHL's Victoria Royals.
