Central defender Ilya Zabarnyi from Bournemouth and the Ukrainian national team has officially joined Paris Saint-Germain.
The club, which is the current holder of the UEFA Champions League, announced this via its press service.
Zabarnyi arrived in Paris with his wife Angelina. He underwent a medical examination and finalized the transfer deal in the French capital.
The Ukrainian player's contract with the Parisian club runs until 2030, with a transfer fee reported to be 63 million euros plus bonuses, according to Transfermarkt. He will wear the number 6 jersey in his new team.
Thus, Zabarnyi's transfer becomes the second most expensive among Ukrainian footballers, following Mykhailo Mudryk, for whom Chelsea paid 70 million euros in 2023.
Additionally, the combined value of all of Ilya's transfers throughout his professional career now totals 85.7 million euros, making him the most valuable footballer in the history of Ukrainian football.
