The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has mandated that the undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) must face the organization's interim champion Joseph Parker (36-3, 24 KOs).

This was reported by the organization's press service.

The fighters' teams have been given 30 days to reach an agreement for the match; otherwise, promotional bids will be initiated.

If Usyk declines to defend his WBO title, he will be forced to vacate it, resulting in the loss of his status as the undisputed world champion.

It is worth noting that Usyk recently knocked out British fighter Daniel Dubois, claiming the title of undisputed world champion in the heavyweight division (over 90.72 kg) for the second time, making him the first in history to achieve this feat.

Joseph last fought in February, where he was set to face Dubois; however, the Brit withdrew due to illness just three days before the event, leading to Martin Bakole stepping in. Parker knocked out Bakole in the second round.

Additionally, Usyk and Parker had discussed a potential fight immediately after Usyk's bout with Dubois.
