On the third day of the European Youth Olympic Festival 2025, young Ukrainian athletes secured their first medal!

This exciting news was announced by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.

Athlete Vitalii Tarasiuk finished third in the 5000 m race walking event with a time of 20:55.71. Vitalii holds the Ukrainian record for this category among athletes under 18.

The gold medal was claimed by Italian athlete Nicolo Vidal (20:22.43), while the silver went to Spanish competitor Gabriel Gonzalez (20:35.25).

This marks the fourth medal won by the Ukrainian team at the XVIII Summer European Youth Olympic Festival in Skopje.
