The European team championship in chess took place in Slovenia, featuring competitions for youth in the under-12 and under-18 categories.

Ultimately, the girls brought home two silver medals for Ukraine, while the boys' team displayed solid performance, securing fifth place in both categories.

In the under-12 category, Ukraine was represented by Solomiya Svitenco and Yana Marusin, while Sofia Moskaleц and Yana Toropceva competed in the under-18 category.

It is noteworthy that Poland triumphed in both girls' age categories, with the boys' U-18 title also going to Poland, and Romania winning the U-12 category.

Interestingly, these medals marked Ukraine's first achievements in children's classical competitions since 2016.
