WBC, WBO, WBA, and IBO heavyweight champion Alexander Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) has shared his thoughts on who the best boxer in the world is.
The information was relayed by The Ring.
According to the Ukrainian, he does not consider himself the best, stating that title belongs to Terence Crawford. The 37-year-old American was the undisputed world champion at welterweight in 2023. Over the years, Crawford held the WBO, WBC, WBA-Super, and IBF titles across various weight classes.
In 2023-2024, Crawford was named the best boxer in the world, irrespective of weight class, by The Ring.
On September 13, Crawford will fight Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in Las Vegas. The fight will be broadcast live on Netflix, and a special The Ring belt will be on the line.
As for Usyk, he is set to face Daniel Dubois at Wembley on July 19. Their first match took place on August 26, 2023, in Wroclaw, where the Ukrainian won by technical knockout in the 9th round.
Crawford previously mentioned one of the Ukrainian boxers as being among those he considers "elite."
