The match concluded with a nail-biting tiebreaker, where the Ukrainians ultimately claimed victory. Throughout the encounter, the Ukrainian players executed 17 blocks, with Yuri Semenyuk leading the charge with five blocks.

The last time the team showcased such a performance was during the group stage of the 2021 European Championship against Portugal, where they recorded 19 blocks.

This match set a new record for the team under the guidance of Argentine coach Raúl Lozano, who took over in 2024 and has already led the team in 13 matches. The encounter against Cuba surpassed the record from the 2024 Golden European League final against Croatia, which had 14 blocks.
