Ukrainian grandmaster Vasyl Ivanchuk is on a winning streak that began at the start of 2025, recently clinching the title at the German Blitz Team Championship.
This information was reported by Chessdom.
“The Great Chaki” participated in the tournament representing the SC Remagen Sinzig team. His team and SG Solingen finished with the same number of points, but Remagen Sinzig secured more game points overall.
The tournament featured blitz time control – three minutes per game with an additional two seconds for each move. A game point in chess represents a situation on the board where a computer detects a clear advantage for one of the players.
During the tournament, Ivanchuk played 25 games, earning 20 points without a single loss.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that in April, Ivanchuk placed second at the Reykjavik tournament and won the Menorca Open 2025.
