Ukrainian athlete Mykhailo Kokan clinched gold at the French club championship in hammer throw held on May 18 in Franconville.
Sixteen athletes participated in the event, with Kokan taking the lead with a throw of 72.89 meters. His best result this season is 80.73 meters, achieved at the Antalya Cup in Turkey at the end of April.
This coming Saturday, May 24, Kokan will compete in the Boris Khanzekovich Memorial in Zagreb, Croatia, part of the Continental Gold Tour series. The 30-year-old Ukrainian runner Viktoriya Tkachuk will also participate in the competition.
It’s worth noting that 24-year-old Kokan is a bronze medalist from the 2024 Olympics in Paris in hammer throw.
