The South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University hosted an event titled «Mental Wellness: Steps to Support». This initiative is part of the nationwide mental health program «How are you?» launched by the First Lady of Ukraine.
The aim of the event was to raise awareness about the significance of mental health and to create a platform for experience sharing.
Over 40 participants attended in person and more than 100 joined online. Among the attendees were students, psychologists, educators, and community activists.
Opening remarks were made by the Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Dmytro Radulov, University Rector Andrii Kraznozhon, and regional coordinator of the «How are you?» program, Anna Velichko, who emphasized the importance of collective efforts in the mental health field.
The agenda included a quiz, interactive activities, and practical tools for enhancing mental well-being.
Andrii Bortov, the head of the Mental Health Center, moderated the event and shared relevant statistics on the number of requests for mental health professionals.
At the conclusion of the event, participants engaged in a gratitude practice by creating a symbolic «Tree of Gratitude» with personal wishes and supportive messages.
This event highlighted the growing interest in mental health topics and the importance of continuing such initiatives in the region.
The development and implementation of the nationwide mental health program «How are you?» is overseen by the Coordination Center of the Cabinet of Ministers with expert support from the World Health Organization.
