The Ukrainian association «Society of Ukrainian-Cypriot Friendship» has been accepted as an associated member of the European Congress of Ukrainians (ECU). This was announced on Facebook.
Founded in 2017, the organization brings together Ukrainians in Cyprus to support their culture, facilitate their integration into society, and foster friendly relations with Cypriots.
The Society conducts cultural and artistic events, engages in international initiatives and advocacy projects, shaping the voice of the Ukrainian community on the island.
It is noted that the strategic direction of the «Society of Ukrainian-Cypriot Friendship» is to strengthen Ukrainian identity abroad and promote important issues for Ukraine.
During the annual General Assembly of the society last November, elections were held for a new governing board. The updated leadership team, led by Nadia Mykhailina, will serve until November 2027.
Last year, the opening of the Ukrainian House took place in the city of Paphos, Cyprus.
