As Christmas approaches, Ukrainians come together to share warmth and hope, passing on a light that unites their hearts across the nation.

For over 40 years in Ukraine, a tradition has flourished where scouts spread the Bethlehem Flame of Peace from community to community. This year, the flame has arrived in Kyiv and will begin its journey through towns and villages across Ukraine.

This year, the flame will again be transported by the trains of Ukrzaliznytsia, marking the fifth year that railway workers have participated in this initiative, helping to deliver this symbol of light to numerous settlements.

This was reported by Ukrzaliznytsia.

«Thanks to the railway routes, the flame from the Holy City reaches even the most remote corners of Ukraine quickly and safely. Traditional first meetings take place at the train stations, where scouts bring lanterns to hand over to passengers and local communities, from where the flame continues its journey — as a sign of peace, faith, and support,» the statement reads.

Every year, the Bethlehem Flame serves as a symbol of unity and resilience for the Ukrainian people, especially in the face of new challenges and trials, reminding everyone of the power of light that can overcome darkness.
