President Volodymyr Zelensky, accompanied by First Lady Olena Zelenska and several top officials, participated in a ceremony honoring the memory of Holodomor victims. The Office of the President broadcasted the event, while Ukrinform provided a livestream on its YouTube channel.

The ceremony began with a prayer in the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra for the millions who perished innocently due to the Holodomors.

The prayer was led by prominent religious leaders, including His Beatitude Epiphanius, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Valeriy Antonyuk, Aider Rustemov, Markos Ohanesian, and Alexander Yazlovetsky.

Additionally, the choir “Khreshchatyk” performed the prayer “Eternal Memory” for the souls of the millions of Ukrainians who suffered from starvation.

Following the prayers, the participants marched to the National Museum of Holodomor-Genocide, where they laid sheaves of wheat tied with blue and yellow ribbons at the statue of the girl with ears of wheat located on the museum grounds.

Among those present were military leaders, including National Guard Commander Oleksandr Pyvnenko, Armed Forces Commander Oleksandr Syrskyi, and officials such as Andriy Yermak, Yulia Svyrydenko, Andriy Sybiha, Tetiana Berezhna, and others.

It is worth noting that every year, on the fourth Saturday of November, Ukraine commemorates the victims of the Holodomors, as established by presidential decrees in 1998 and 2007.
