On November 15, the Kyiv Art Gallery «Lavra» will host the opening of an exhibition by Anatoly Kush, one of the most prominent contemporary sculptors, who will present over 200 works, some of which will be shown for the first time, according to the Kyiv City State Administration press service.
Numerous distinguished guests from the art world and representatives of European embassies supporting Ukraine in its fight for independence will attend the event.
«In his works, the artist seeks to elevate humanity, restoring its full essence, and „through the medium of man, to return all that is supernatural to nature, and through the medium of nature — all that is beyond human to man“, — states the announcement. — Anatoly Kush's creativity is an extraordinary phenomenon not only within the context of Ukrainian fine arts but also organically fits into the evolutionary path of global, especially European, art.»
Kush's works are featured on the global stage, as he continues to promote contemporary Ukrainian art, culture, and history at prestigious international exhibitions and art fairs.
As part of the exhibition project, Ukrainian political scientist, YouTuber, and author Mykola Davydyuk will hold a raffle for a miniature copy of Kush's iconic sculpture «Oranta Ukraine», which decorates the Independence Monument in Kyiv's Independence Square. The sculpture, measuring 57 cm, will be raffled to raise funds for drones and a minibus for the 210th separate assault regiment.
This exhibition marks the first time in Ukraine that Kush's works are supported by the UN Development Fund, UNESCO, and the Kyiv City State Administration.
Additionally, Kush's exhibition will be covered for the first time by ABC (USA) in the program «This week with Bob Muller», which will focus exclusively on the Ukrainian sculptor and discussions about Ukrainian art in the context of war.
