On the occasion of Armored Forces Day, recently celebrated in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky met with military personnel and presented them with state awards, including the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi III class and the Orders of ‘For Courage’ I–III class.
The head of state emphasized that armored forces have become one of the key components of Ukraine's defense capabilities.
“Of course, in the context of the drone war and new technological aspects, the role of tanks has significantly changed. The tasks for tank crew commanders have become much more complex. However, the significance of our armored forces remains crucial. The bravery and accuracy of our tankers, the firepower and maneuverability of tanks continue to play an essential role in protecting our Ukrainian positions and destroying enemy troops,” stated Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to the President, there are over 100 tank battalions operating in Ukrainian combat brigades.
“These are strong, experienced units – a significant armored force in Europe. We are proud of our warriors. Ukraine is ready to share its experience with allies,” the head of state emphasized.
Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude to the tankers and urged everyone to remember those who gave their lives in the fight for Ukraine. A moment of silence was observed to honor the memory of fallen defenders.
